The Collaborative Wellness Team at RMANJ provides counseling, acupuncture, yoga, nutritional guidance, and other natural interventions to complement your clinical care with our fertility doctors in NJ. If you’re looking for someone to talk to about the ups and downs of treatment as an individual or couple, our counseling experts are here to listen. For patients dealing with the loss of a pregnancy or coping with cancer and the need for fertility preservation, counseling could provide the right perspective at the right time.

Marisa Sweeney, RD
Marisa Sweeney, is the Director of Wellness Services at RMANJ and owner of Be Well Wellness Center in Morristown, NJ. A Registered Dietitian since 2009, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Food Science with a concentration in Dietetics from Montclair State University and is a member of the New Jersey Dietetic Association.

Marisa works closely with our RMA physicians and nurses to develop a nutrition program focused on optimizing fertility and fostering healthy pregnancy.
Judith Kottick, LCSW
Judith Kottick, A recognized expert in the field of reproductive counseling, Judith developed the original psychological services program at Reproductive Medicine Associates of New Jersey and she has served as a consultant in the field throughout the tri-state area. She is currently the Director of Mental Health Services at RMANJ and maintains a private practice in Montclair, New Jersey.

Gestational carrier and gamete donor arrangements are particular areas of expertise and are frequently the topics of symposiums and workshops Judith is invited to give for both professionals and patients. She created the popular Family Stories Workshop, which helps recipients of gamete donation gain the tools and techniques necessary for talking to children about their donor origins.
Judith draws upon her postgraduate training as a psychotherapist and in behavioral medicine from the Mind/Body Institute at Harvard Medical School to provide a personalized approach to helping people cope with the challenges of fertility treatment, pregnancy loss, adoption, and parenting. Involved as a past mentor for Resolve Northeast region and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, in addition to serving on the Mental Health Advisory Council of the Path2Parenthood, Judith has written numerous articles for professional organizations, and has also contributed a chapter to the book “Frozen Dreams.”
Jennifer Gamper Meenan, BSN, RN, MSW, LCSW
Jennifer has worked as a pediatric nurse at St. Barnabas Medical Center, a social worker in the Collaborative Wellness Team at RMANJ and is a Member at Large for the Mentor and Mentee Committee of the Mental Health Processionals Group of American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).

Patients often feel a loss of control and need help regaining their equilibrium, a challenge that friends and family members do not necessarily understand. Jennifer currently runs a private psychotherapy practice in Basking Ridge, NJ and serves as a consultant for RMANJ. She brings a unique combination of experiences in nursing, social work, infertility and adoption to the practice.
Lauren Foley, L.AC
Lauren Foley is a Counselor with the Complementary Care mental health team at RMANJ. She earned her Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Seton Hall University. Her work focuses on supporting individuals and couples in infertility treatment.

Prior to working at RMANJ, Lauren spent two years with The New Brunswick Counseling Center providing counseling for individuals with substance abuse issues. Her passion for assisting those who need assistance in daily life brought her to RMANJ in July, 2015. Lauren is a member of the Mental Health Professional Group of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine.
Carolyn Raiman, L.AC
Carolyn received her Diplomate in Acupuncture from the Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in Montclair, NJ and specializes in fertility and reproductive medicine. She is a member of the NJ Acupuncture Association and has been practicing for over 8 years.

Marc Passmann, L.AC., SABORM
Marc is an expert in advanced acupuncture who specializes in working with women and men during treatment for infertility in NJ.
“For almost a decade I have exclusively practiced acupuncture focused on fertility and reproductive health. I have extensively studied medicine from both an Eastern and Western perspective and I feel that my experience and knowledge enables me to help patients to understand the treatment process and manage the stress that often comes along with their treatment.”
Marc custom-designs a course of fertility treatment that meets each patient’s individual needs. He often combines traditional therapies with advanced approaches, including gentler styles of Japanese acupuncture. Using these techniques he is able to target the specific causes of Qi imbalance and corrects them.
Marc holds a Master’s degree in acupuncture from the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Seattle. He currently sits on the Governing Board of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine and is a Fellow of the Board as well. He is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and a former board member of the American Fertility Association.
