Dr. Maguire was a molecular biology major at Princeton when she took a course in embryology and genetics, sparking her interest in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. Following her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency, she says she knew she wanted to keep pursuing the specialty.

“I loved obstetrics and gynecology – delivering babies – it was very rewarding,” she says. “But I knew that intellectually, I wanted to move toward reproductive endocrinology.” Aware of the world-renowned research being conducted at RMANJ, Dr. Maguire says she was thrilled to be invited to interview there following the completion of her fellowship.

Today, she finds it energizing to be working in such a proactive environment. “We make a big effort to stay up to date and offer the latest technology,” she says. “Not just to offer it, but to actually invent the latest technology.”

Dr. Maguire sees these advances for the scientific breakthroughs they are, but also for the tremendous boost they offer the countless couples who come through their doors seeking to become parents. “SelectCCS or Comprehensive Chromosome Screening is not only an amazing technology, but is such a reassurance for patients,” she says, referring to RMANJ’s unique program which screens to select the most viable embryos for implantation. “I’ve met so many incredible couples; each of them are so deserving and I feel lucky to be able to help them.”

Dr. Maguire is a board certified Reproductive Endocrinologist, Obstetrician and Gynecologist, as well as Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Science at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.  She earned her medical degree from Medical College in Virginia, performed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Tufts Medical Center, and completed her Reproductive Endocrinology fellowship at National Institutes of Health. She is also a Partner and OB/GYN Chair at Short Hills Surgery Center. When not at work, Dr. Maguire enjoys reading and taking her daughter into New York City to share her love of musicals and Broadway shows.
