At a young age, Patrice Cote knew she wanted to work in the medical field as a physician assistant. In high school, while other students chose easy electives, Cote challenged herself by taking anatomy and physiology and her hard work paid off.
She was accepted into a 5-year Master Physician Assistant program at King’s College in Wilkes Barre, Pa. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Medical Studies and a master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies. It was during her clinical rotations at King’s College that she fell in love with women’s health and then decided to pursue reproductive medicine.
“My OB/GYN rotation propelled me to pursue a career in women’s health and I found reproductive medicine to be a perfect fit,” she recently said.
Cote joined the doctors at IVF New Jersey as their physician assistant. In 2015, IVFNJ merged with Reproductive Medicine Associates of New Jersey, and Cote then joined the team at RMANJ, providing care at all the locations.
“It’s very rewarding assisting patients with their cycle coordination,” she said, “But I especially love the unique opportunity to provide direct patient care and build rapport with patients.”
As a physician assistant, she works closely with patients, not only seeing them at appointments, but also performing procedures such as: ultrasounds, IUIs, saline sonograms, catheter checks, endometrial biopsies, and physical exams.
In her spare time, Cote keeps busy by coaching high school lacrosse, and spending time with her family. She is a board certified physician assistant, a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine.
